Financial lows and highs took the secondary spotlight Tuesday evening, during a Grundy County Board meeting dominated by a decision on the future of the Grundy County Home.
Also on Tuesday night, the board:
¥ Heard [Chairman Paul "Barry"] Nelson report the county's Planning and Zoning Committee and Highway Committee are reviewing proposed alternative routes for the Prairie Parkway and anticipate having a resolution on which the full board might act in August.
Residents of Nettle Creek Township have actively opposed the routing of the proposed north-south link between Interstates 88 and 80 along Scott School Road since becoming aware of the proposal in June, more than one month after the alternatives were detailed at a meeting in Morris.
Nelson indicated it is likely the board will reiterate its support for the original protected corridor, which would produce a tie-in with I-80 approximately three miles east of Minooka.
