The Prairie Parkway, a proposed north-south link between Interstate 80 and Interstate 88, was a significant topic of discussion during a town meeting held by State Rep. Careen Gordon prior to the council meeting.

Because of its impact on the city, aldermen agreed to consider meeting with department of transportation officials.

Alderman Martha Shugart has received maps showing the possible routes, as well as a lot of other information.

State Rep. Gordon said the head of IDOT told her a decision on the parkway was to be made by the end of summer.

Alderman John Swezy said the city should determine a position and adopt a resolution.
