Stanley Loica 1943-2024

Stanley “Stan” Loica, age 81, of Kankakee passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born July 2, 1943 in Kankakee, the son of Anthony “Tony” & Helen (Stanley) Loica. Stan married Joanne Bland on December 1, 1963 at Calvary Bible Church in Bradley.

Stan worked for Roper until it closed, taught at Kankakee Community College and ultimately retired from CSL Behring after 32 years of dedicated service. Stan was known to be a fatherly figure to many, a kind soul, and a very hard worker.

Throughout his life he enjoyed water skiing, canoeing, motorcycling, snowmobiling and more recently taking walks at Limestone Park. One of his hobbies that spanned several decades was restoring his 1971 Chevy El Camino and taking it to local cruise nights. He also found many life long friends through the hobby of R/C Car racing.

His greatest accomplishment though was his three surviving daughters; Laura Loica (Griffin Kisner) of Dwight, Janet Loica of Winfield, Lana (Tony) Lewis of Kennewick, WA; and two grandchildren, Lucas Loica Kisner and Andrew Lewis.

Stan is preceded in death by his wife Joanne Loica (Bland) and his parents.

Visitation will be held at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee on 12/27/2024 from 10 am to 12 pm concluding with the service at 12 pm.

Interment will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens in Aroma Township.
