Richard L. Wine 1944-2020

Richard L. Wine, 75, of Coloma passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020, at the Hanson Hospice Centee in Stevensville. Cremation has taken place and no local services are planned at this time.

Richard was born on June 7, 1944, in Kankakee, Ill., to Ivan and Verna Wine. He worked in the banking industry for 40 years. During that time Richard earned both his brokers license and his appraisers license. At the time of his retirement in 2007, he was a vice president of Citizens National Bank in Cheboygan, Mich.

He and his wife, Merye, who were married in 1982, moved to Coloma three years later in 2010. Richard loved sports. In his youth, he played football, baseball, basketball and ran on the track team. He was an avid University of Michigan fan and followed all their sports teams.

He was also a music lover, having been in a drum and bugle corps and later played both the piano and organ in a dance band. Richard had many talents and once took second place in a Chicago talent show.

Richard was loved and will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Merye; his son, Dennis (Nicole) Wine of Rhode Island; his daughters, Misty Wine of Illinois and Sandra Arent and Jennifer Arent, both of St. Joseph; brother, Larry (Glenda) Wine of Con- necticut; sister, Vicky Wine of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Tucker.
