Raymond
J. Mulholland, age 81 of Kankakee, passed away on Thursday,
September 18, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 26, 1944
in Kankakee, the son of Raymond J. and Bernice L. (O’Connor)
Mulholland. Raymond married Judy Riemer on December 26, 1966
at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kankakee.
Raymond is a retired Civil Engineer from the State of
Illinois.
Raymond
retired from the United States Army Reserves after
twenty-two years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He is a graduate of St. Patrick Grade School, Kankakee High
School and the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
Raymond enjoyed model railroading and being with his family.
He could be found attending all his grandchildren’s
activities. One of his greatest joys was sitting on his
patio with his dog, Molly.
Surviving is his wife, Judy of Kankakee; three sons, Raymond
J. Mulholland III of Simpsonville, SC, Douglas R. (Monica)
Mulholland of Kankakee, Keith T. (Julie) Mulholland of
Manteno; two daughters, Mary (Robert) Walton of Aurora,
Kathleen (Ramon) Zarate of Kankakee; 19 grandchildren,
Amanda (Chris) Matthews, Mary (Aaron) Stafford, Emily (Wes)
Hayes, Mikaela Mulholland, Keith Mulholland II, Gavin
Mulholland, Dillon Mulholland, Greagoir Mulholland, Jillian
Mulholland, Melanie Mulholland, Caitlin Mulholland, Sierra
Mulholland, Ailise Mulholland, Aislinn Mulholland, Raven
Walton, Harley Q Walton, Thorin Walton, Ripley Walton,
Tabitha Walton; two great grandchildren, Lincoln Stafford
and Rhett Hayes; and two granddogs, Princess & Ginger.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on
Friday, September 26, 2025 at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral
Home, Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00
a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic
Church, Kankakee.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee.
