Michael
G. Patchett, age 80 of Kankakee, passed away on Tuesday,
April 30, 2024, at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee. He
was born on January 24, 1944, in Kankakee, the son of
Leighton and Kathryn (Lang) Patchett. Michael married
Rebecca Elam on May 6, 1995, in Kankakee.
Michael
was a retired employee of The Dow Chemical Company.
Michael
was a graduate of Kankakee High School and Olivet Nazarene
University, Bourbonnais. He appreciated music and was a
member of the Kankakee Jug Band. Michael was a history buff.
He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, target shooting and
riding his motorcycle.
Michael
was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the
DMZ in Korea.
Surviving
is his wife, Rebecca of Kankakee; one son, Matthew Patchett
(Katrina Apking) of Austin TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
Special
mention as instrumental in caring for Michael is nephew,
Kirk (Adrianna) Patchett of Kankakee; two sisters-in-law,
Marlene Albers of Kankakee, and Cindy Elam of Manteno.
Michael
is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sharon
Woods; four brothers, Leighton P., Gerald, James, and
Theodore.
Visitation
will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m.
funeral service on Monday, May 6, 2024, at
Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, Kankakee. Reverend Scott
Henley will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the
Aroma Park Cemetery, Aroma Park, IL.

may be made to the Kankakee County Humane Foundation or
River Valley Animal Rescue.
