Mary Joann Boudreau 1944-2014

Mary J. Stankewicz, 69 of Bolivia, North Carolina, formerly of Bourbonnais passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at her home in Bolivia, North Carolina.

She was born September 27, 1944 in Kankakee the daughter of Vernon J. and Etta Mae Johnston Boudreau.

She married Stephen J. Stankewicz on August 26, 1967 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2005.

Mary retired from Kankakee Junior High School District 111. She earned her BA from Alverno College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and her MAE from Olivet Nazarene University. She was a parishioner at Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais. She was a member of the Ladies Golf League at the Elk's Country Club in Kankakee and the Kankakee Genealogy Association. Mary was an avid reader.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Tammi Stankewicz of Bourbonnais; one daughter Jamie Nicole Stankewicz of Arlington, Virginia; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandra Kay Arnold of Carpentersville, Patricia & Larry VanHam of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert J. & Barbara Boudreau of Chebanse, James V. Boudreau of Momence; three granddaughters, Abigail, Mallory, and Kaitlin; and her Aunt and Uncle, Brenda & Wayne Boudreau of Bourbonnais.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will be held at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
