Larry Cheffer

    Larry Cheffer, 75, of Russellville, Ark., passed away Friday (June 22, 2018) at his home.
    He was born May 1, 1943, in Kankakee, the son of Hector Harvey and Delores Ann Thompson Cheffer.
    Larry was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also was a faithful volunteer for CASA, court-appointed special advocate.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Sandy Cheffer, of Russellville, Ark.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy and Bob Siawrys, of Kankakee, and Beth Ann Burrs, of Kankakee; two grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carol Cheffer, of Bradley; a niece, Jill Thomas, of Downs; a cousin, Jimmy (Betty) Fortune and their two daughters, Brenda and Candy, all of Dana; his father-in-law, John (Charlene) Russell, of Kankakee; two brothers-in-law, Stuart Russell and Scott (Tracie) Russell, all of Kankakee; an aunt-in-law, Verna (Phil) Rainey, of Ozark, Ark.; and many other relatives and dear friends.
    Memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jack Sidler officiating. Visitation will follow. Burial will be private.
