Kenneth
A. Anderson 1944-2026
One author wrote “God writes the story of
our lives in such a way that we would know that He is the
Lover of our souls”. Kenneth Allan Anderson’s story began on
September 9, 1944. He was born to Floyd and Dorothy Anderson
(née Baer) in Kankakee, Illinois. His earthly story ended on
March 20, 2026 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. His early
family life, River st, was full of fishing, hunting, camping,
target shooting (in the basement), gardening with his dad,
go-kart racing and flying remote-control airplanes.
While completing a Ceramic Engineering degree at U of
Illinois, Ken recognized that trusting Jesus as his Savior
& Lord was what was missing from his life. He would often
quote Helen Keller’s saying “Life is either a daring adventure
or nothing.” His five years in the US Navy were
great preparation for the adventures ahead.
That adventure included 50 years working in a Christian
Disciple-Making organization, The Navigators. He had the
privilege of ministering to both English and French speaking
folks. This commitment carried Ken to many places: Maryland,
Virginia, Québec, Moncton, Boston and finally back to Moncton.
Fifty years in Canada.
In Ken’s family story, God gave him his wife, Judie Anderson
(Hoffman), a brother, Duane (Barb Walsh), a sister, Kathleen
Walczak (Mike); Judie’s family, Allen Hoffman (Jane), Joan
Bundt (Duane), and Joyce Long (Ben) Judie’s twin.
Miraculously, God gave Ken and Judie children: Nathanaël (Pam
Mansfield) in Australia, Chantal Prouse (Jeremy) in Victoria
BC, Eric (Erin Martin) in Edmonton AB, and Philippe (Geniève
née Cormier) in Halifax NS. And to Ken’s delight, 10
grandchildren were given: Molly, Ryder, Sarah, Charlie,
Dawson, Chloe, Rosalie, Luka, Emmett.
