James Richard Voss, 79, of Michigan City, passed away
unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2024 at his home. James was
born December 4, 1944 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Harry
and Augusta Voss.
On August 17, 1963 he married Bonita Lynn Payne in Benton
Harbor, MI and she is preceding him in death.
Surviving is one daughter, Melissa M. Heckman; two
grandchildren, Abigail Sheets and Ryan Heckman and many
friends.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Debra L. Voss.
James retired from the steel mills.
He was a member of Notre Dame Church. He will be missed by
all who knew and love him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at
10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home. Entombment will take
place in Calvary Cemetery in Benton Harbor, Michigan
following services. A viewing will be held on Friday from
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
