James Bland

    James R. Bland, 70, of Manteno, passed away Sunday (Sept. 7, 2014) at home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1943, in Chicago, the son of Earl H. and Marian Schaffer Schroeder.  James married Constance Henning.  She survives, of Manteno.
    He was in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years.
    In addition to his wife, surviving are stepsons, Greg and Tami Denault, of Cypress, Texas, Doug and Donna Denault, of Herscher, Jeff and Samantha Denault, of St. Anne, Lance Denault, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Marc Denault, of East Hazelcrest; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joann and Stanley Loica, of Kankakee; brothers, Richard Bland of Lagoda, Ind., and Robert Schroeder, of Kankakee; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Visitation will be from 11 am Saturday until the 1 pm Funeral services at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, where he was a member.  The Rev., Kevin Werner will officiate.  Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
