Duane F. Pfeffinger - 1944-2010

Dwayne F. Pfeffinger, 66, of Kankakee  away at Provena St. Mary's Hospital June 1, 2010. He was born March 9, 1944 in Chenoa, IL to Carl and LaVera (Benedict) Pfeffinger.

On June 11, 1988 he married Judy Monty at the Friendswood Christian Church in Bourbonnais.

Mr. Pfeffinger was employed by the Bradley Roper Plant, the Hobart Corps in Chicago Heights and he retired from the Essex Corps in 1988. After retiring he became the owner and operator of Four Seasons Stables in Kankakee. Dwayne loved to be outside on the farm whether it was bailing hay, tinkering with anything he thought he could fix or being with his quarter horses.

He had a wonderful sense of humor, took pride in making people laugh and absolutely adored his grandchildren and family.

Dwayne is survived by his wife Judy of Kankakee; children: Terriann (Jim) Brown of Herscher, Troy (Brandy) Pfeffinger of Seymour, TN, Chad (Teresa)Pfeffinger of Knoxville, TN, Shari (Mike) Tambling of Dwight, Susan (Greg) Callozzo of Chicago, Mary Beth (Warren) Kazmeryck of Cabery, Michael Mercer of Chicago, Scott Mercer of Kankakee and Michelle Mercer of Kankakee; grandchildren: Ethan, Ryan and Kathleen Brown; Kylie and Ramsey Pfeffinger; Brady Pfeffinger; Colton and Chaney Tambling; Veronica and Peter Callozzo; Jakob Gash; Samantha Haven and Gideon Courville; sister Janet (Robert) Bushey of Kankakee; brother Kaywin (Evelena) Pfeffinger of Streator and George Pfeffinger of Kankakee; brother in law Dale (Sharon) Monty of Bradley and sister in law Rita (Michael) Papineau of Bonfield. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol (Lee) Bushey and a sister in law Christine Pfeffinger.
