L. Norton 1943-2020
Donald
L. Norton, age 76 of Wilmington, formerly of Kankakee,
passed away Saturday June 13, 2020 at Riverside Miller
Center in Kankakee.
He was born November 12, 1943 in Kankakee, Illinois, the son
of the late Clyde and Inez Norton. He was raised and
educated in Kankakee and on October 10, 1964 Donald married
Theresse Rogers. Prior to retirement Donald owned and
operated Union Hills Sales and Service. He was a member of
the New Lenox Sportsman Club and enjoyed fishing.
His wife Theresse, who died in December 2014, served on the
Wilmington Fire Department for several years and later
managed and operated Minute Gas Station and Convenience
Store in Wilmington and Manhattan until her retirement.
Survivors include two sons: John Norton and Ron Norton;
three grandchildren: Kyrie, Sarah, and Kyle; two
great-grandchildren; one brother Bury Norton. Donald
was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Theresse.
Per Donald’s wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and
inurnment will take place at a later date in Kankakee
Memorial Gardens, where Donald will be laid to rest with his
wife.
