Danny G. Steinhart 1943-2026

Danny G. Steinhart, age 82 of Watseka and formerly of Kankakee, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Arcadia Care in Watseka. He was born November 13, 1943 in Kankakee, the son of Charles and Irene (Huse) Steinhart. Danny married Theresa Meents on August 8, 1980. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2012.

Danny was a laborer for Yoshino America Corporation, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed model trains. Danny liked to spend time clock making, woodworking and fishing.

Danny is a veteran of the United States Army serving in Viet Nam.

Surviving are three sons, Scott (Jennifer) Steinhart of St. Petersburg, FL, Jason (Kristi) Asher of Kankakee, IL, Chad Steinhart of Port Ritchie, FL, Tim (Denise) Asher of Fl; two daughters, Lisa DaViera of Groveland, IL, Sarah (Evan) Eckhoff of Onarga, IL; one sister, Janice Barnett of Kankakee, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; his parents; and one brother, David Steinhart.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorial visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee.
