Alan LaRoche 1944-2025

    

Alan L. "Butch" LaRoche, age 81 of Kankakee, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at his home on his birthday. He was born on August 28, 1944, in Kankakee, the son of LaVerne and Ula (Kinney) LaRoche. Alan married Jackie Blanchette on May 24, 1969, at. St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Kankakee.


Alan was employed at the Ford Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights and retired after 43 years. He owned and operated the Kankakee Liquor Store for 25 years.


Alan graduated from Kankakee High School. He was a former member of the Kankakee V.F.W. Alan enjoyed fishing.

Alan was a veteran of the United States Army.


Surviving is his wife, Jackie of Kankakee; three sons, Bryan (Courtney) LaRoche of Kankakee, Douglas (Stephanie) of Seneca, SC; Timothy LaRoche and Kelly Calloway of Kankakee; three daughters, Leshia (Bret) Zeedyk of St. Anne, Angela (Keith) Born of Round Lake, IL, Kimberly (Josh) Brenneisen of Kankakee; two sisters, Sandy Allison of Chebanse, Tina (Rodd) Andrews of Bourbonnais; one brother, LaVerne Terry LaRoche of Clifton; one brother-in-law, Robert Redmond of Bradley; ten grandchildren, Ana (Brady) Hansen, Chase LaRoche, Kinley Zeedyk, Seth Zeedyk, Logan LaRoche, Jaisa LaRoche, Gianna Born, Maddie Born, Mila Brenneisen, Bryson Brenneisen; one great-grandchild, Adilynn Hansen; special cousins, Barry and Janine Baron of Bourbonnais, Sue Potter of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.


Alan is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Opal Depatis, Carol Allen, Vicki Redmond; one brother, William (Bill) LaRoche; three brothers-in-law, Chuck Depatis, Donald Allison, Bud Pepin; and two sisters-in-law, Debbie LaRoche and Sandy LaRoche.


Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, Kankakee. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the funeral home. Reverend Matt Pratcher will officiate. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum, Bourbonnais.
